Assisteens Work to Help Homeless

The Assisteens, a teen auxiliary of Assistance League of Flintridge, have created their own project for helping the homeless by working with the Pasadena Bad Weather Shelter. In December, Assisteens gathered essential products, such as socks, granola bars, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hot chocolate packages and more for the homeless who seek the protection of the Bad Weather Shelter. The group made the kit assembling fun by combining the work with an ugly sweater holiday party. Given the cold and rainy January that has hit the Los Angeles area to date, the Assisteens' project for the shelter this month will be all the more welcome. They are cooking, baking and serving a warm dinner for the guests. For more information about Assisteens and Assistance League Flintridge, call (818)790-1328 or go to ALFlintridge.org.
